Rothstone Estates has submitted a planning application for a new district centre on a prominent greenfield site at Boulton Moor, Derby, fronting Shardlow Road/A6. The proposed scheme comprises a 19,276 sq ft standalone Aldi foodstore, a Starbucks drive-thru, a BP/M&S petrol filling station and convenience store, and a second drive-thru unit.
Rothstone has agreed a 15-year lease with Aldi for the 19,276 sq ft foodstore, which will benefit from 157 car parking spaces, including EV charging provision. Starbucks has agreed a 20-year lease on a 1,800 sq ft drive-thru unit. BP/M&S has agreed a 20-year lease for a 4,000 sq ft convenience store and eight-pump petrol filling station. The scheme is expected to create approximately 140 new jobs.
